Aloe Vera: The Tropical Cactus “Wonder
Aloe Vera is well known for its soothing and revitalising properties. It has been widely used as an effective therapeutic plant and its cultivation has spread to many countries. It has always been a natural remedy to treat sunburn and heal injuries. The cooling gel of Aloe Vera leaves soothes the symptoms of skin irritation and is also effective on first and second degree burns. Its healing properties are due to aloeresin (a phenolic compound found in aloe vera), which supports the immune system by stimulating macrophages.

Aloe Vera contains vitamins A (beta-carotene), C and E, which are antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and nourish the skin. The extract is also rich in mucopolysaccharides, which help to retain moisture in the skin.
